(USA, North Africa, Italy, France: 1942-45) General Omar N. Bradley looked like a plain Joe... he wore glasses and looked studious. According to General Eisenhower, he had brains, a capacity for leadership, and a thorough understanding of the requirements of modern battle. After his retirement from the Army he served as an elder statesman and advisor in Washington.
