A defining moment in the Cold War, the Korean War saw American
and Chinese Communist forces fight to a stalemate under the shadow
of the atomic bomb. These period documentaries, made during or
shortly after the Korean War, cover various sides of the conflict:
the savage war on the ground, the critical role of the U.S. Air
Force, the part played by Soviet and American tanks in the Korean
War. Especially noteworthy is John Ford's masterful "This is
Korea," regarded as one of the best films ever made on the Korean
War.
