Military Music Of Adolf Hitler's Leibstandarte-SS Military Music Of Adolf Hitler's Leibstandarte-SS
Formed in 1933 the military band of the Adolf Hitler's Bodyguard Regiment, the Leibstandarte-SS, was to become the most famous of the pre-war Musikkorps in the history of the Third Reich. In their black ceremonial uniforms and under the musical leadership of Hermann Muller - and his deputy Gustav Weissenborn, German military music was performed at all the very highest level by this elite and much favoured band.
The summer and winter Olympics of 1936, the Nuremberg Rallies, visits by foreign dignitaries, the Führer's birthday, the Musikkorps of the Leibstandarte-SS has always in full attendance performed a well polished repertoire of the most exciting military music of the era.
